GETTING THERE
The nearest airports are located in Oporto (110 Km) and Lisbon (200 Km) and you have got three alternatives to get Coimbra.
From Lisbon International Airport:
By Train: You must take a taxi to Gare LISBOA ORIENTE. The trip will last about 10 minutes and it may cost about €5. Trains run by CP (portuguese railways) and stop regularly at Coimbra. The trip will last about 2 hours if you take ALFA and a bit more if you take Intercidades and the cost is €21,50 (ALFA) and €15,50 (Intercidades). There are 2 stations: Coimbra B, on the main line, and Coimbra A, on a short branch line in the city centre. You can book on-line. Timetables are available here.
By Bus: You must take a taxi or the tube to the Bus Station in Sete Rios. The trip will last about 15 minutes and it may cost about €8-10. Buses are regular. Some buses may stop in other cities in its path before arriving at Coimbra. The trip will last about 2 hours and a half and it costs €13. You can book on-line. Timetables are available here.
By Car: You must take the A1 motorway towards the North (Oporto) and go out at COIMBRA SUL. The distance is 200 Km.
